About Us

Molesworth Manor is a uniquely characterful B&B just minutes by car from Padstow and with ample, secure parking avoiding the parking difficulties you may well encounter in the town, especially in the summer season. Please note that we have a bend in our drive which cannot be navigated by anything larger than a Transit!

Although parts of Molesworth Manor date back to the 1600s, and it is Grade II listed, it offers 21st Century comfort and convenience.  Its  heritage means you will find plenty of fascinating architectural features and this heritage is also reflected in our room names.  Originally, the building was a rectory for the beautiful little church of St Petroc Minor (well worth a visit) and was the home, during the 1800s, to Hugh Henry Molesworth, 8th Baronet at Pencarrow House, Bodmin.

Molesworth Manor nestles in the lee of the hill in the pretty village of Little Petherick in a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.   There is a breath-taking walk you can take from here to Padstow through the Uplands of Treravel following the creek which leads directly into the Camel Estuary.

The house is conveniently located for a wide range of activities and attractions.  For the actively-minded golfing, sailing, surfing, horse-riding, fishing and walking are all easily accessible.  The surrounding area has excellent restaurants, bistros and pubs.

All our bedrooms are centrally-heated and offer splendid views over open countryside.  There are two sitting rooms with open fires in the colder months and plentiful reading material and local information. Molesworth Manor is licensed and we provide a selection of wines, spirits and beers which can be enjoyed in the house or garden.

It is said that breakfast is the main meal of the day and we take it very seriously.  We serve a ‘full Cornish Breakfast’ plus a ‘special of the day’, along with a variety of fresh fruit salads, yoghurts, cereals, home-made marmalade and muffins, freshly-squeezed orange juice and Cornish apple juice.  We strive to be as sustainable as possible and where-ever we can we source breakfast produce  locally from first-rate Cornish suppliers.

We are a family-run business and, having children of our own, we do our very best to be as child-friendly as possible.  Although our bedrooms are all on the first and second floors, we willingly try and meet your requirements should you have special needs.  In this instance, Swallow Court Cottage is all on one level, can be let out as rooms, and may well suit your needs.  Please call us to discuss and receive a copy of our Access statement.

We have been awarded 4 Star Silver by the VisitEngland and Molesworth Manor features in the Michelin Guide and the Alistair Sawday Bed and Breakfast Guide.
